The report below comes from one of our Touch A Life feeding locations in India, and is written by our regional director. Typically 48 children are being fed at every meal!
The leprosy colony feeding center is going well by the Grace of God. As you know, the main reason for feeding is to share the love of Christ to the untouchable and neglected people of the society. Not only the lepers but also their families are avoided, and they are banned from mingling with others. Though the government takes steps to eradicate leprosy and give better treatment to the isolated ones to avoid contagiousness in society, it is in vain. The government is trying to reduce the number by treating them in the leprosy hospital, but more people are getting admitted. In future, India should eradicate leprosy and should be leprosy-free for the glory of God.
As we visit them regularly wih our feeding program, we hear many sad stories. One of the stories is that a couple from the village have both been detected as lepers. Their friends and families disown them and ask them to leave the village, so they came from the village and were admitted. The wife goes out in search of a job but ends up begging in the streets. Her son is a drunkerd who visited his parents with his wife and son. We prayed for this lovely family. The couple’s grandson comes and eats in the feeding center. Pray for this family. It is heartbreaking to see this family live without knowing the saving knowledge of Christ. Pray that we continue the feeding center and hospital visitation and reach them with the love of God.
Thank you for your generous hands and heart. May God bless you and continue to uphold us in your prayers.
