955 Days of War

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Greetings!

This simple verse, which we all know by heart, has been used by the Lord to encourage our family and church in significant ways over the past 2.5 years of war.  You have been a big part of the Lord’s encouragement.  Together, we have given the Gospel in Word and Deed in so many different ways.

How has the Lord done this?

1. Providing temporary housing, counseling services, transportation, laundry facilities, and humanitarian aid for over 2000 families fleeing active war zones;

2. Preaching innumerable short and understandable Gospel messages while caring for refugees and delivering aid; seeing new churches start with humanitarian aid and countless souls saved;

3. Delivering over 500 tons of food to families impacted by the russian invasion.  Each food pack is accompanied by a printed Bible or Bible keychain and Gospel presentation;

4. Purchasing ten evacuation vehicles and participating in the maintenance and upkeep of fifteen more vehicles and their crews that evacuate civilians and wounded soldiers from the evergrowing front lines;

5. Feeding needy children in Mukachevo and war orphans in Odesa;

6. Starting wartime Baptist churches and outreaches in the EU and facilitating the placement of fleeing Ukrainian families in safe places with communities to serve them;

7. Participating in numerous rebuilding and outfitting projects for churches impacted by russian bombing;

8. Supporting and outfitting army chaplains; providing needed non-lethal aid to frontline and wounded soldiers;

9. Starting First Ukrainian Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC; (The Lord has allowed us to see two souls saved and baptized this summer.  Please pray for the spiritual growth of Andrew and Iryna.)

10. Facilitating the planting of Baptist Fellowships in the United States, where large groups of Ukrainians have settled with no Gospel witness in their language.

While hurting ourselves, the Lord has given us great solace by helping others.  It brings joy to take the focus off of what we have lost and look for Kingdom opportunities to impact souls for Christ.  The Lord is blessing our combined efforts.  Thank you for continuing to pray for and give to these ministries and support our family as we labor among Ukrainians in the United States, Europe, and Ukraine.

Periodically, we return to Ukraine and the EU to encourage our team and maintain accountability within the various ministries supported by your generous donations.  Although the Lord very clearly redirected us to the United States to work with Ukrainians for a time, our European ministries continue.  We yearn for a just end to this war.

Our hearts also hurt for all those affected by Hurricane Helene.  The death and destruction that she brought to so many is devastating.  We have been very encouraged by the church’s response to this disaster.  Seeing the Body of Christ rise and meet endless challenges to serve people is beautiful.

Thank you for your faithful support. Please continue to pray for all the ministries listed above and for a just end to this ruthless war.

We are privileged to be a part of your missionary family!

Sincerely,

Oleg, Lori, Abigail, and Simon Enskyy
